  Beautiful palace just outside of Madrid! Great for a one day trip.

  There are definitely better palaces to see throughout Europe but Aranjuez has an enormous green space that makes this a worthwhile trip from Madrid. Many of the rooms are simply staged to what they would have looked like. No photos are allowed inside even though 90 percent of the finishes are faux finishes. Marble walls and wood ceilings that are simply painted finishes really distract from what the palace could be.

  The exterior of the palace seems a little bit simple compared to other european palaces. The interior though has many interesting rooms to see but i think they are not all of equal beauty. The ceilings of some of them are not decorated at all. But some other rooms are marvellous (like the "arab study" and the "porcelain study"). It is definitelly an interesting sight along with it's gardens.

  The park is an adobe of peace and tranquility amid the hustle and bustle of city dwelling. The fountains are quite fascinating, relaxing; the promenade makes for calming stroll. Boasts of a couple of peacocks and a number of water birds.
